Booze On Our Breath (Why We Need Feminism)

When a woman only makes 76% of what a man makes even in 2007, and when a product can't be sold without a picture of a woman's chest next to it--that is when we know we still need feminism.  Not the sort of feminism that thirsts to "bring men down to the level we've been at" but a thirst for us to rise up to equality.  We need feminism because without it, people will still think that little girls wearing underwear that say "Spank Me" is okay.  Feminism is the set of goggles society needs to put on to see the filth it's been allowing to clog its vision since we can remember.  Using sex to sell products may or may not be grotesque but if we're going to do it, we need to stop using the woman as an object and make it more about both genders.

This Youtube is titled "The Best Beer Commercial Ever."

What is she being used for?  A piece of plumbing and a table for booze.  Ads like this are why we need feminism.

  1. Thanks for posting that commercial Arden, it was really appalling. I totally agree with you that ads like these are perfect examples of why we still need feminism. This commercial serves to objectify women by portraying the woman as no more than a table or an "object" not a real human. In my opinion it also suggested and glorified gang rape because men's hands were reaching from all sides of her to grab the beer. And the fact that they were sharing the same beer also alluded to them "sharing" her.
